Work session reviews budget priorities

At today’s work session, the Orange County School Board received a budget presentation from the Interim Chief Financial Officer. Board members were updated on changes to the distribution of education funding from the State of Florida and the impact on the district from the sunset of the half-cent sales surtax December of 2025. The Orange County Tax Collector also updated members of the board on litigation between the Orange County Property Appraiser and multiple Hotel/Time Share groups which could impact the district in the coming years.

Due to time constraints, the scheduled discussion on the 2023-2024 Code of Student Conduct will be rescheduled for a future date to be determined.
