Welcome to Meal Benefits 

Important message for parents and guardians

                          New Cafeterias for school year 24-25
Only students enrolled in one of the schools listed below are eligible to apply for meal benefits. By applying, students may qualify not only for free and reduced priced meals, but also for internet service discounts, waivers for SAT/ACT exam fees, among other benefits.

The application portal opens on Monday, July 1, 2024.

You do not need to complete this application If your child is not enrolled in one of the
above mentioned schools. For the other schools' meal benefit eligibility, please read the information below about the Community Eligibility Provision program.

COMMUNITY ELIGIBILITY PROVISION SCHOOLS 

The Community Eligibility Provision program provides ALL students at participating schools with breakfast and lunch meals at NO CHARGE. Students enrolled in these schools do not need to complete a meal benefits application during school year 24-25.

Household Economic Survey
To assist families in qualifying for other benefits based on economic status, below is a link to the survey used for household economic verification. Please note, this survey has no impact on or relevance to meal benefits in a CEP school. Filling out the survey will aide in verifying your child’s status and potentially qualifying for benefits through other sources – not related to nor dictated by OCPS.
Such benefits are:
Gifted education program and waivers for SAT/ACT/PSAT test fees.

Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) eligibility letter:
Complete and submit this form if you are simply requesting a letter stating that your child is participating in a Community Eligibility Provision school where breakfast and lunch are offered at no charge.

NUTRITION  

The Food and Nutrition Services department is reaching their mission to provide access to quality nutritious meals to support all OCPS students and educators. To ensure your child is eating nutritiously, students can choose three to five components for their meal.The five food group components are: proteins, grains, vegetables, fruits, and milk. For breakfast and lunch, students may select a minimum of three out of four offered food items, where one of those items must be a 1/2 cup of fruits or vegetables. Items will be charged at their individual price if less than three to five components are not selected.

Extra meals and smart snacks are available but additional charges apply. *Snacks and Supper items are based on individual school qualifications. Please check with your child's school for participation details.
