OESPA ratifies 2022-23 contract creating highest pay in the area for educational support personnel

Today the Orange Education Support Professionals Association announced that education support personnel ratified agreements on compensation and contract language for the 2022-23 school year with a 92.3 percent “Yes” vote.

The agreements include the following:

  • New minimum hourly rate of $15.00
  • New minimum hourly rate for bus drivers $16.65
  • All employees will receive an increase – no less than 6% above his/her current rate from 2021-22 school year 

 In addition, an agreement was reached on several items related to working conditions and for the 2022-23 school year staff will also see the implementation of the second year of the retention bonus.

 “Congratulations to the OESPA and district bargaining teams for this accomplishment.  This new contract confirms that the School Board and administration are always working to provide the best possible pay to our deserving employees when the resources are made available to us.  It is also a tribute to the dedication of the OESPA leadership during such challenging times,” Superintendent Barbara Jenkins said. 

"As OESPA President, I am happy that the support staff of OCPS has approved a much-needed raise for classified employees,” OESPA President Ron Pollard said.
