To earn an AP Scholar with Distinction, students must have a 3.5 average score on all AP exams taken, and earned scores of 3 or higher on five or more of the exams.

To qualify as a National AP Scholar, students must have an average score of at least a 4 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of the exams.

After receiving recognition on stage, students and families attended a reception where the scholars could network with other students interested in attending the same college as them. They could also take photos with classmates using an OCPS backdrop and choice of collegiate pennants.
