Students eating breakfast

More Orange County students are getting off to a good start each school day thanks to an innovative program that makes it easier for kids to eat breakfast at school. At Eagle’s Nest Elementary the Grab n’ Go Breakfast Program has been a big hit.

Unlike traditional breakfast programs that only serve kids in the cafeteria, the Grab n’ Go Breakfast increases morning meal participation by allowing late-arriving students to grab ready-to-go breakfast containers to eat in their classrooms. More than 50 additional students at Eagle's Nest are participating in the breakfast program since the Grab n’ Go Breakfast was launched early in this school year.

Representatives from OCPS Food and Nutrition Services, Florida Impact and Eagle’s Nest Elementary School were on hand for media questions about innovative breakfast models and the district’s commitment to ensuring all kids start their day with a healthy meal.

Florida Impact and No Kid Hungry are partnering with the district to end child hunger in Orange County. For more information on innovative breakfast models and the No Kid Hungry Campaign.
